Important Information
Clodagh Meiklejohn was born in 1974 and spent the first 20 years of her life in Scotland. She now lives and works from Spain. Clodagh was drawn to visual arts from an early age and she trained at the Norwich School of Art and Design and the Putney School of Art and Design.
In 2003, Meiklejohn started exploring in acrylic and mixed media. Through the years she developed a unique atmospheric interpretation of landscapes, aimed to convey a veer impression rather than accurate depiction, allowing form to emerge from something seemingly haphazardous.
Clodagh is inspired by wild open spaces and in her work she strives to capture the atmosphere and beauty of the scenery. The mood arising from the harmonious relationship formed by the individual natural elements in constant fluctuation, yet, acting as a whole. By allowing the diffuse composition to be open to interpretation, Meiklejohn’s evocative paintings can reflect nature itself.
