Artists SubmissionsWe always welcome new artists submissions. We consider artists in all stages of their careers, from recent graduates to professionals. In order to apply, send an email to our selection committee at info@alpha-art.co.uk with the following information: • Full name • Location • Artist profile • Previous exhibition and awards • Stage of your career • Information of any other gallery representation • Relevant links if any (website, etc) • How did you hear about the gallery and why do you want to work with Alpha Art • Pricing of your work • 4 to 6 images of samples of your current work We receive a large volume of artist applications on a weekly basis. Unfortunately we cannot reply to everyone and for this reason you will hear from us only if your application is succesfull. We look for artists who are committed to their work, their career and the gallery. If you don't hear from us, don't feel discouraged, it is often the case that the work is not suitable for our gallery but might be of interest to others. Private and Corporate EventsWith a large collection of high quality artworks by a variety of artists always on display at the gallery, the space is the perfect venue for hosting special events. We have previously hosted various events, from wine tasting to corporate cocktails. We will do our best to accomodate your specific requirements. Career OpportunitiesGallery Assistant Pay: Dependent on experience Location: Edinburgh Closing Date: 12.06.22 Job description At Alpha Art Gallery we are looking for a new part-time member staff to become a vital part of our team and contribute to the growing success of the gallery. We are looking for one person to work flexibly two to three days per week and provide additional cover during busy periods. This is a varied and diverse role in a dynamic and flexible working environment. We are looking for someone to assist in all aspects of running the gallery. Support UsThe gallery and its members are affiliated to a number of local and national organizations including Creative Scotland, Creative United, Arts and Business Scotland and the Society of Scottish Artists, among others. We have supported and worked with many charities including the Bethany Christian Trust, that provides support to the homeless, and the Royal Blind Charity, that provides supports to the visually impaired. We also work with a number of private collectors and sponsors in other to support the creative community in Scotland and the UK. The gallery is a member of the Own Art scheme, a Creative United initiative supported by Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Own Art makes buying art easy and affordable by letting you spread the cost of your purchase over 10 interest free monthly instalments. You can use it to pay anything from £100 up to a maximum of £2,500 for the purchase of art. If the artwork you want to acquire is over the £2,500 limit, you can pay a deposit for the difference. It takes 10 minutes to set up at the gallery and there isn’t a limit on the amount of times you can use the scheme. The application can also be made remotely, please contact the gallery for more information.

Shipping AbroadWe ship artworks abroad in a weekly basis. We work with professional packing specialists to prepare the artwork for shipping and work with companies dedicated to the shipping of artworks to ensure the safe traveling of the works. If you have your own artworks that you like to deliver contact the gallery for advice.

Delivering within the UKWe deliver artworks within Scotland and the UK in a daily basis across the country. We work with specialised art couriers to move work across the country and can help arrange the delivery to suit your schedule. Framing ServiceWe offer a comprehensive picture framing service at the gallery and can accommodate your preferences. In order to provide a bespoke service, we work in partnership with an Edinburgh based professional picture framer. James Sutherland is an independent framing expert that has been in the trade since 2007. Some of the services we offer include framing, moulding, mounting, glazing, stretching of canvases and tapestry, hand finishing, reframing and reglazing. We stock a number of frame samples at the gallery and our experienced team can help you select the best suited option. We will do our best to work to your schedule.

Trial TermThe surroundings have an effect on every artwork and it not always easy to visualise it in situ. For this reason, we offer a specialised viewing service, where we bring the work of art to your chosen location for you to experience it in your chosen environment. This can be at a corporate or private residence. We offer a trial term service free of charge within Edinburgh area, and we can make similar arrangements for any other location within the UK. Art CommissionsAn artwork commission is a personalised experience that enables the collector to take an active role in the development of a work of art. The gallery can offer this service acting as a mediator, facilitating the communication between yourself and the artist. We oversee the whole process from development to installation. Some artists are open to offer commissions, but this is not always the case. You should contact the gallery for more information.
